Egodystonic & Egosyntonic

In Egodystonic & Egosyntonic the body is used as a starting point for the recognition of our human condition, and the proposal of our sun re-evolution.

The body offers itself up to the viewer in the photograph, before raising out of the image into marbled flesh.

The raw, meaty quality of the marble brings the artwork to life as the life-size body of sculptural fragments escapes from the two-dimensions.

The contemporary photography is imbued with past histories as the marble stucco technique recalls seventeenth century art histories and the terracotta-coloured marble recalls materials of the ancient cities, like Pompei and Herculaneum.

Mixed media techniques real size photography and artificial marble sculpture on wooden board.

The whole project by Ruben Esposito and Simone Lezzi includes 5 different final artworks that will be ready in the next months of 2018.
